MAJOR NEWS!Just in time for the holidays, the Montana State Supreme Court affirmed that state government agencies and officials have a constitutional obligation under Montana's Green Amendment to consider the greenhouse gas emissions and climate changing ramifications of their actions. The court upheld a lower court's decision that plaintiffs had a right to a clean and healthful environment that includes a stable climate. This most recent environmental and climate victory will strengthen the ability and obligation of government officials and the courts in the state of Montana to meaningfully address the climate crisis - and also strengthen the ability of advocates to fight for essential environmental and climate protections. This incredible victory – secured by an honorable collective of environmental organizations and activists from the state of Montana – further strengthens the power and importance of securing constitutional Green Amendments in every state across our nation and ultimately at the federal level.You can read more about the most recent Held v.
